Tech Mahindra Earned/Annual Leave Policy
Employees at Tech Mahindra get 21 earned leave in a year. Each month 1.75 day gets
credited to employees’ leaves bucket, which accounts for 21 annual leaves per year.
Employees need the manager’s approval to take the earned leaves. Employees can also
carry forward a maximum of 16 leaves to the next calendar year, and the rest five leaves if
unused, will lapse at the end of the year.
The earned leaves are frozen if an employee is on notice period. All of the earned leave
balances are encashed and will be given at the time of the employee’s full and final
Tech Mahindra Sick Leave Policy
In Tech Mahindra, there is no specific leave quota for sick leave. However, 6 sick leaves can
be taken, in case the employee is hospitalized. Sick leaves can only be availed if employees
have exhausted their earned leave balance. However, it also depends on your manager and
the reason you are applying leave for. Make sure to submit medical certificates along with
discharge papers from the hospital while applying for leaves.
Tech Mahindra Maternity Leave Policy
Tech Mahindra offers 90 days (3 months) of paid maternity leave. Female employees can
also opt to extend the duration of their maternity leave up to 6 months upon utilizing all of
their earned leaves, following which the remaining days would be leave without pay.
However, this is subject to prior approval from HR and reporting manager.
Tech Mahindra also offers a flexible work-from-home policy for new parents, along with
various support groups for office returning mothers.
Tech Mahindra Paternity Leave Policy
New fathers at Tech Mahindra can take up to 5 days for paid Paternity Leave after the birth
of their child. The paternity leaves can only be used if an employee doesn’t have sufficient
earned leaves with them.
Tech Mahindra Adoption Leave Policy
Tech Mahindra provides 3 days of paid leaves for Child Adoption. To accelerate gender
parity, Tech Mahindra also offers same-sex adoption leave. The same-sex couple at TechM
is eligible to get 12 weeks of paid adoption leave, along with three days of bereavement
Tech Mahindra Leave Policy during the Notice period
There is no buy-out policy in Tech Mahindra, so the employee has to complete their notice
period to avoid getting absconded from the company. Employees are generally not allowed
to take leaves during the notice period. However, if there is a medical emergency
employees can apply for leaves with supporting documents from a doctor, along with the

- Employees are also entitled to get 9 public holidays a year, depending on their
location. Tech Mahindra professionals also get 1 optional holiday from a given list of
optional holidays. The manager’s approval is not required to avail of option holiday.
- There are no casual leaves in Tech M. However, employees can take 5 days of
advance leave if required, which will get adjusted in their earned/annual leave
- Employees can also take Comp Off (if they have worked on holidays, then they can
use comp off).
- In case employees have used all their leave balance and need additional leave, they
can request gift leaves from their colleagues, or else money will be deducted from
their salary (loss of pay).
It is important to keep in mind, that taking leaves during the notice period can extend your
last working day based on the number of leaves taken. However, it can avoidable, if your
reporting manager agrees or if you are not on any ongoing company projects.
