Facebook Sick Leave Policy

Facebook provides unlimited sick days to employees with illnesses, chronic diseases, and injuries. However, before taking leave for a longer duration, employees are required to get approval from their reporting managers and provide necessary medical certificates.

Facebook Bereavement Leave Policy

Facebook supports its employees and gives them much-needed time to mourn and heal in the event of the loss of a loved one. The company allows its employees to get 20 days of paid leave to grieve an immediate family member, including spouses, kids, parents, siblings, etc. Whereas, a paid leave of up to 10 days will be allowed to grieve an extended family member.

Facebook Paid Time Off (PTO) Policy

Facebook provides its employees with 21 days of personal and vacation days in a calendar year as annual leave. Employees can use this time off to go on holidays or to take care of personal matters.

In addition to annual leave, regular Facebook employees are eligible for a 30-day paid time off every five years.

Family Care Leave at Facebook India

Employees at Facebook are entitled to take three days of paid leave to take care of a family member with a short-term illness, such as a child with the flu or an elderly member of the family.

Whereas, for long-term illnesses, paid family leave or care leave allows employees to take up to six weeks of leave in a calendar year to be with an ill family member.

Facebook Parental Leave Policy

The tech giant’s updated parental policy extends its support to both moms and dads. The company offers four months of paid leave to new parents, both mothers and fathers alike, to bond with their newborn children. The parental leave benefits will be given to eligible employees in case of natural birth, adoption, and surrogacy. Employees may take parental leave at any point up to a year after the birth of their child.

In addition to paid parental leave, Facebook allows its employees with part-time and flexible work options who wish to get back to work. Eligible employees are also allowed to take nursing breaks and are also provided with crèche facilities inside the office premises.
