As the various resources claim, HCL technologies offers 18 sick or annual leaves to their
working employees. Employees can carry forward these leaves to the upcoming year.
However, there is no categorization of leaves in HCL. You get some leaves throughout the
year that you can use at your convenience.
Some leaves get lapsed while others get carry forwarded to the upcoming year. You can
either use them or encash them.
My Leaves in HCL Technologies India
HCL also gives My Leaves to its employees. Employees can use these leaves for special
events in their lives such as birthdays, weddings, and marriage anniversaries. My Leaves
are separate from the annual or sick leaves you get throughout the year.
Annual Leaves in HCL Technologies India
As explained earlier, annual and sick leaves are the same in HCL India. You can carry
forward these annual leaves or encash them. You can easily apply for these leaves from the
HR portal.
Maternity Leaves in HCL Technologies India
Maternity leave benefits apply to those women employees who have been working with
HCL continuously for the past 80 or more days before the expected delivery date.
Women employees can get up to 26 weeks of paid leaves. They can take these leaves before
or after the delivery. The only condition HCL applies is that an employee can take leave up
to six weeks before the expected delivery date.
HCL also offers one additional month of paid leaves in case of illness or complications
during pregnancy or delivery.
Paternity Leaves in HCL Technologies India
HCL also offers paternity leaves to new fathers. However, it is less than other companies
offer. HCL only gives five working days of paternity leave for the fathers. A male employee
has to present documented evidence to the immediate or reporting manager.

leaves, while others vary per new policies or projects. HCL gives a decent amount of

HCL also allows taking up to four restricted holidays in a year. These leaves get credited
quarterly, and as per sources, they lapse at the end of every fiscal year.
HCL Leave Policy during the Notice Period
Yes, an employee can take leaves during the notice period in HCL, but with a genuine
reason only. Health issues, deceased issues, and more severe issues can allow managers to
give employees leave during the notice period.

HCL does not offer a particular marriage leave policy. Employees can avail of annual leaves
(Approx. 23) to get paid time off during the wedding. You can also get a few more leaves
with some tweaks, but that depends on your project and the project manager.
HCL Resign Policy
HCL does not have a complicated resignation policy. Employees can initiate a resignation
process using the EMS (Exit Management System). However, talking to your manager
before starting the process can save you time and effort.
An employee has to serve a notice period which can vary from their position in the
company. For instance, the notice period for E2 employees and above is three months, but
the notice period for E0 and E1 employees is two months. You can raise a request or submit
the company laptop on the last working day.
Managers can enter your request directly from their portal to speed up the process. The HR
team will make some efforts to retain the employee.
